The milestone to fix the bug sets to WP 2.8.2. I hope WordPress team can make that happen with the next release.

The milestone to fix the bug pushed to WP 2.8.4.

Problem
After uploading/inserting a image and saving draft, the code of thumbnail sometimes won’t be inserted into the excerpt field.

Cause
A bug of WordPress 2.8 reported here (ticket #9471)
It should be fixed in WP 2.8.1.

Solution
Be sure to “save draft” before uploading a file.

Please let me know if you find any other problem with PB on WP 2.8.

When you go to Appearance > Widgets in your WP admin panel, you’ll see “column 1″ to “column 6″ in the dropdown menu in Current Widgets section. These are set in PB page template:

Extra page template isn’t used by default, so please use it when you need an additional 2-column page.

Please make sure to deactivate all plugins when you update the WP to 2.5 and to deactive Photopress (pb-mods) plugin when you replace it with the new Photoress (pb-mods) files.

WordPress 2.3 has been released and there is an exciting new feature, tags and tag cloud. I tested Photo-Biyori on WP 2.3 and it works fine with no changes. Here is how to add tags and tag cloud page to your PB site. See the sample here.

How to add tags to posts

In index.php and single.php of the Photo-Biyori theme files, Change the code below:

Category: <?php the_category(', ') ?>  | <?php comments_popup_link(__('Comments (0)'), __('Comment (1)'), __('Comments (%)')); ?>

to this:

Category: <?php the_category(', ') ?> <?php the_tags('| Tags: ', ', ', ' '); ?> | <?php comments_popup_link(__('Comments (0)'), __('Comment (1)'), __('Comments (%)')); ?>

The template tag for the tags is

<?php the_tags('| Tags: ', ', ', ' '); ?>

How to add tag cloud page to PB

1. Download the template for tag cloud page.
　PB-tags.zip

2. Upload tags.php into wp-content/themes/PB folder.

3. At Admin>Write>Write Page, create a new page.
Page Title: Tags (or whatever you like)
Page Template: Tag Archive

The template tag for tag cloud is

<?php wp_tag_cloud('smallest=8&largest=15'); ?>

I use Lightbox to show a larger photo at my photolog. Photo-Biyori has Lightbox code in it and below is how you can use it.

You still need to find a Lightbox Plugin for Wordpress, though. I tested with:

Lightbox 2.0 for WordPress
WP lightbox JS WordPress Plugin

They work fine with the Photo-Biyori. There are many other Lightbox plugins and any of them should work if it uses rel="lightbox" in the image tag.

Once you install and activate a Lightbox plugin, go to Options > Photopress and change the settings:

Update options.

Prepare an image with the size that you want it to show in the Lightbox window and upload it with the PB-Mods Photopress. When you instert the image, it should insert the code something like below and show the larger image (originally uploaded image file size) when the main image clicked:

Plugin doesn’t work if…

• your PB site forbids linking to files. (hotlinks)
• your PB site address is different from the WP address.

Installation:

• Download the plugin. (Last updated: 09/01/2007)
  pb-latest-thumb.zip
• Upload “pb-latest-thumb” folder into your PB site’s plugins directory.
• Activate “PB Show Latest Thumb”. There is no options for this plugin.

How to Show the Thumbnail

Add the code below to the page, where you’d like to show the latest thumbnail.

* Change example.com and your photolog title. It should work on non-WordPress sites but I haven’t tested yet.

First, here is the sample.
This is the default color for the PB LT and this is after.

Changes:
in style.css:
background-color: #xxxxxx; inside body, #wrap, #header and #footer tags.

in header.php:
background-color: #xxxxxx; inside <style type="text/css" media="screen"></style> tag.

In the sample site, I changed it to #000000 (black).

Depend on the color you pick, the title text might not look good. In that case, change:

style.css:
#xxxxxx after /* blog title text color */
