if you downloaded the latest Photo-Biyori (3.0.2), you should be able to add any links to your menu.

Hi, I have the latest version of your theme installed, but when I try to use the menu feature, I get the message “your theme supports 0 menus.” Checked functions.php and I see you have added the code for both custom bg and menu. Just wanted to know if I am doing something wrong? Thanks.
Yes, i didn’t set up any theme menu and you need to create one. First, you create Menu with a name (whatever you like). Then, you can drag and drop any pages, categories, or custom URL to the menu.

How can i display the post’s image in an RSS feed?
you can change it through admin > settings > reading. it’s wordpress settings, not photo-biyori settings.)
Thanks, one last question, I love the guest map that you have on your site,would you be kind enough to shed some light on the subject. I know that it’s flash based, but where did you find it! I love and would like to use it if possible.

it’s not easy to change the order as you like in WP. you need to use custom fields a lot.
I had almost given up finding a theme as perfect as this one! what I am wondering is if I need to have the “paid’ version of wordpress in order to use this? I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to upload this theme..could you let me know if not having a paid verison of wordpress is my issue..I will gladly do that if it is necessary!

this theme is for self-installed version of wrodpress from wordpress.org not for wordpress.com.

Your theme has exactly what I need, but once I activated the latest Photo-Biyori (3.0.2), the following error appears on my site:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_nav_menu() in /home1/wingposo/public_html/wp-content/themes/PB3-LT/header.php on line 27

Sorry to bother but I have another question… I’d like to categorize my photos (eg. landscapes, animals, portraits) and have the categories shown on the menu bar. Once clicked, thumbnails of each category are displayed accordingly.

Hi there! Love your design! I started putting random photos up to test it and it worked great and then suddenly it will gave me the “Error 404 – Not Found”. If I hit prev, or next or click the image. the about page still works and the album page works its just when you click the image or try to view another one. It was just odd because when I first add the image it works- just after a few clicks it stops.
Also is there a way to use the images from my personal webspace that I upload to? I tried that but it wouldn’t give me the option to chose”medium size” for my images so my test ones that are up are done by uploading directly.
Another question while I am here- is there a way to make album pages specific to a tag? I would like to have diff. pages to show albums of diff categories since I do all kinds of art.

Hi Elin,
not sure what happened, but please check your permalinks setting in your admin panel (settings>permalinks) and click save changes if you don’t change any.
when you usse the images from your personal webspace, you might need to control image size with css. ie. img { max-width: xxx; } or something. but there is no way to add thumbnails when you do that.
also, you could make tag specific pages manually. but once you’re in the single image page, the thumbnail navigation will be from the all the images not from the single tag.

One question, though; why is the featured post thumbnail option missing? It seems to take the post thumb of the first image of the post, not the one I had chosen previously… Wish I could change some thumbs, y’know :(

no, it doesn’t. you can upload video as WordPress supports but no thumbnail will be created.
Hi there. I am wondering if I am misunderstanding the purpose of the thumbnails at the bottom of the page. Are they supposed to have any order to which ones show up? Currently, I have five posts up to test the theme, but only 3 thumbnails show up at anytime, and certain posts never appear in the thumbnails. Am I doing something wrong?

did you upload the photos from your mobile phone? if so, it won’t create any thumbnails. if you upload the photos through WP admin panel, it should always insert thumbnail code into excerpt field…

I’m currently in love with your layout and plan to use it for a long time. I am a photographer and I’d like to use my images in big format, so the default size wont do. However, I ran into a few problems:
1. While changing the size to the post area, there’s only 7 thumbnails per row. Can I make it so there’s more thumbnails. And how can I center the thumbnails so the row of thumbnails will be aligned center instead of left.
2. How can I have the post date and line break like yours instead of title, image, text, post date like the default.
This layout is amazing, btw. I hope you can help me!

I have one last problem; I was able to change the rows of thumbnails to 10 image, but for some reason in the albums link, when the thumbnails are over 10 images, it goes to another page (it shows up as “newer” or “older” link on the bottom left) instead of adding that thumbnail to that current thumbnail page. What can I do? the layout looks spectacular now, if only I can get the thumbnails all in one page in the Albums link.

Hi, LOVE your theme. One question: following the advice that you gave to My Nguyen above, I set the number of thumnails at 100 (10 rows of 10). The problem is, the most recent thumbnails appear at the bottom, and I’d like them to instead appear at the top. Is there anyway to adjust the thumbnails so that the most recent appear on the top left?

I think the problem is that I’d rather not have a separate “album” page for thumbnails. I want the thumbnails at the bottom of the the main index page to appear with the most current thumbnail at the upper left, oldest thumbnail in lower right.
ok, so you’re not talking about album page, but top page thumbnails.
i never test this but try:
go to functions.php and change DESC to ASC in function pb_recent_thumbnails (around line 20).

first, i absolutely love your site. i was trying to decide between several premium themes when i found yours, and it is SO much better than the ones i almost bought. thank you!!
i am completely new to html/css/basically anything that has to do with web design, so i have several questions–i tried to find and install plugins or alter the codes myself so i wouldn’t have to ask, but i’m too much of a beginner to understand any of the plugins i found..
i was wondering if there is a way to mouseover the thumbnails at the bottom to show the main image instead of clicking them? i downloaded a plugin but couldn’t figure out how to add the code to yours! relatedly, is there a way to add scrolling between the thumbnails at the bottom, instead of clicking the prev/next buttons at the top?
is it possible to entirely remove the by/date/category/comments lines? i want it to look less like a blog. i read several forums but could still not understand how to do it.
and lastly–this is a really stupid question–how can i change the color of the main box the content is in? not the background?

I know that this theme is preset to1 post per page. But I’d like to have 15 posts per page. So I went to my index.php file and set showposts to 15:
is_single = true; ?>
And there is was. 15 posts are there. But then I click “previous”, and the previous page comes up exactly the same as the main page. In other words, not showing the true previous content but rather just duplicating the 15 posts on the main page.
So, I go to my single.php file and added the same showposts code, and nothing worked. What’s wrong??? My single.php header looks like this:

The other issue is after I set showposts to 15 on the main index, my commenting is no longer working properly. Every comment box you click, is the comment box of the most recent post.

i downloaded and tested PB3.0.2 on my testing site and works fine.
not sure what’s going on but i noticed that your file directory is:
themes/PB3-LT-3.0.2/PB3-LT/
see if it will change any when you change it to:
themes/PB3-LT/
(upload PB3-LT folder just under themes folder)

サイト拝見しました。アップされている写真のいくつかのサムネイルが作成されていないようです。もしかして携帯からアップされたりしていますか？携帯からの写真はサムネイルが作成されません。ウェブの管理画面からアップしている場合は、必ず下書きとして保存ボタンをクリックして、抜粋欄にコードが挿入されるのをご確認ください。
サムネイルの数を変更するには、index.php, single.phpのファイルの
の数字を変更してください。その際は必ず奇数にしてください。

Great theme! I have a couple of problems, though.
1.
When the thumbnails work as links, for example in the album-page template, the actual link lies besides the thumbnail and thus the thumbnail itself is not a link. I’ve tried to edit the template code, but I can’t nail the problem..
2.
The thumbnail excerpt does not always automatically generate when I press “Save draft”. What can be the explanation for that?

Hey Tomo, I’ve gotten rid of the next and previous links on the top of my page since my viewers thought it to be confusing. I’ve have 10 posts on my page instead with no thumbnails. How can I put a Older entries or newer entries link on the bottom and what do I need to change or insert in the pages? I know it needs to be on the main page but I don’t know what div or code to use. Since you changed the PB to more like general 1 column theme, I suggest you to find a good 1 column theme which meats your need. :)

STEP3までしかできていないので、写真1点しか表示できていません。
お手すきの際にアドバイス頂ければ幸いです。

i like your theme very much. I have used Photo-Biyori LT 2.0.1 an WP 2.7+ for a year, everything was good. But after this summer, in September, I’ve tried to post a new photo, and no excerpt was generated. I’ve tried in many ways, with many other photos and texts, installed WP 3.0.1. also a new version Photo-Biyori LT 3.0.2, but no more excerpts is generating.
I have tried also to write them manually, but when I do “Save draft”, text is going away.
Could you maybe help me to fix this thing? some tips :)? at which function to look? because i don’t know anymore what to do :)

here is a question, how could I chnage default picture width 500px to 600px? 500px is a little bit small for my wide screen moniter.

I’m setting up a new website using your Biyori theme and I’ve found myself completely stuck in trying to make the album page work. I read your instructions but I do not understand them. Do I create an album page, or do I use the album.php that came with the theme? What do I need to do? Thank you for creating such a wonderful template. It’s really quite lovely!

You need to create a page. then, choose Album from “Page Attributes” menu at the right panel of that page.

他のテーマのようにタイトルだけ羅列する、というのならできると思います。

Hi Thank you so much for your wonderul clean theme. I did some bulk editing to all my posts (tried to disallow comments) and next thing all the thumbnails on thje album page had disappeared ( Iam not sure if my bulk editing had anything to do with it)

3 – Today I have to move my website and import data via wordpress manager, but excerpts aren’t re-write by this way… As I have few posts right now, it’s not a problem, but in the future it could be problematic: have you an idea to proceed ?

Thanks for your excellent theme :-) It’s one of the neatest I’ve seen…
Everything mostly seems to be working well for me, but I have one problem. For some reason only 4 thumbnails are shown, and the thumbnail images never change as I move through my posts. I’ve modified medium image size and thumbnail size slightly, but I don’t see why this would cause the problem I’m seeing.
Can you give me any idea on what’s happened. (The tiny little and the dot symbol do appear to the right of the four thumbnails that do work, but with no image above them)
I know this description’s a little confusing, so the site’s at http://www.drawnbythelight.net so you can see what I mean.

質問なのですが、Albuｍページで、サムネイルの数が増えてOlder、Newerが表示される様になりますが、最初に表示されるフロントページをAlbuｍに設定していると、そのOlder、Newerのページに飛ぶことができません。
これを解決する方法はあるでしょうか？
たぶんできないのではないかと。
ただ、フロントページをAlbumにするというのは、トップをシングルポストにしない、ということなので、普通のテーマをカスタマイズする方がうまく行くと思うのですが。

great theme, i just found it and have it running. since i plan to upload via mobile devices using wordpress and postie, is there any way to get the thumbnails created with your theme? the page seems lacking without them.
I’m trying to use your great theme on http://toothfairyindustries.com. Where can I find instructions on how to utilize the album template? For now I’m using the NextGen-gallery with the NGG carousel template. I’ve managed to tweak PB3 so it does not show site name at the top or the edit link.But I also want to a) not display the page title above the top, rather make the active page be bold on the horizontal menu 2) resize the thumbnails so they are all 100×100 and evenly spaced below the main image c) show a caption between the main image and the thumbstrip that is 11 pt Arial light gray flushed right.
Should I be using NextGen, or does your album template do something similar? Which files should I edit to make the changes I’ve described above?

my album template is just list all thumbnails on a page.
if you want to create something like galleries, don’t use Photo Biyori.

使用されているエディターの文字コード設定がUTF-8になっていないのではないかと思うのですが…

Lovely theme! I would like to have just one row of thumbnails at bottom of page, but layout is displaying multiple rows instead. Can you suggest why this might be?

Hey Tomo, I think I pretty much got your template rolling on my main photoblog now. The only hard thing was manually updating every single post to automatically generate a thumbnail for every single post. After a while it didn’t feel automatic but I successfully imported my whole Pixelpost blog and I really dig this theme you invented. Tell me what you think? :) I’m not that into code and customizing layouts but I find WordPress to be quite a bit of fun to tweak and screw around with. I may choose to do your lightbox option later down the road but for now I’ll enjoy the layout as it is. Thanks, Tomo, my friend! (:

Wonderful work on the template!
I just have one issue in WordPress 3.2.1 : When i make a post with a picture in it the excerpt thumbnail doesn’t seem to work…
I save as draft first, and then publish.
Would you have an idea as to how I can fix this please?

did it work prior 3.2.1 for you before upgrading?
please remember auto thumbnail doesn’t work with mobile WP app.

I followed the directions from http://everydays.hassii.com/photo-biyori about posting photos, but when I add photos to the page and then go to view the page, none of the photos show up. any ideas?
Sorry, no idea. does your photos shows up when you change the theme to the wp original?

タイトルの文字のサイズ変更はstyle.cssのh1のフォントサイズを変更して下さい。
また、タイトルを画像に置き換えることは可能ですが、header.phpファイルを直接編集することになります。

I am putting together a simple blog for my friend and your theme is perfect for it, but I’m having a problem with the thumbnail display at the bottom. Instead of one line, they are grouping into two or three lines of three thumbnails. Do you know why this is happening and how to fix it?

It’s a fantastic theme. Unfortunately I’ve come across it a little late. I’m facing following problems
1- I have a database of some 2000 photo posts. The themes displays the thumbnails of only those posts which are posted after installing your theme. Is there a way to create thumbnails of previous posts too?
2- How can I use widgets with your theme? The widget section shows 6 coulmn boxes. I’ve added different options in these columns but nothing appears on the blog.
3- Which menu plug in is best for creating menus for your theme.

3. you don’t need any plugin to create menu. just go appearance > menus to create your own.
Hello, and thanks for the theme which I am trying to use for my photography web site.
I am new to WordPress and don’t know much about it.
Some of the pictures I have uploaded do not appear on the same ‘album’ page as the rest. I would like all my images to appear on the same ‘album’ page but I don’t know how to do it, or why it organises the pictures like this.
When I look at the ‘album’ page to view the thumbnails, I have to click on the ‘older’ button to view some thumbnails.
Does anyone know why this is happening or how to sort it out ?

album page shows the old image first. if you want to change this, change “orderby=date&order=ASC” to “orderby=date&order=DESC” in album.php file.
Thank you. However, when I look at the Album page in the dashboard, there’s no code there !!

do you mean no code when you look at admin > appearance > Editor and select theme “photo biyori”?
Hi, don’t worry I got it now. I had to select the ‘Album’ page on the right after going into Editor. I’ve never done this before, so all confusing.
It would be nice to be able to alter the order of the pictures too.
